Terms of Service

1. Service

Namanu English ("the Service") provides AI-assisted language practice, including speaking practice, written corrections, flashcards, and progress tracking. The Service is operated by Namanu English (the "Company", "we", "us").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up and use it only for this check. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abuse, fraud, or misuse of the Service.

3. Subscription, billing, and refunds

Paid plans are not available. The Service takes no payment method, holds no card data, and cannot charge you. Nothing in the rest of this section is in effect today — it describes how paid plans will work if and when they open, and we will give notice before that happens.

New accounts include a 7-day Premium trial. It requires no payment method and ends by itself — there is nothing to cancel, and no charge is made when it ends. If your account is reviewed before activation, the trial starts when the account is activated.

When paid plans open, they will be billed in advance for each billing period through a payment provider. Prices will be shown in Korean won including VAT, and the Company will be the seller of record. Prices will change only with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

You will be able to cancel at any time before your next billing date, and access will continue to the end of the period already paid for. Refunds and 청약철회 (withdrawal of subscription) will follow Korean 전자상거래법. Because AI feedback is digital content delivered immediately, a billing period already begun may not be refundable in full (전자상거래법 §17(2)); partial and exceptional cases will be handled individually. A contact address for refund requests will be published before any charge is possible.

4. AI content and accuracy

Feedback, scores, and generated content are produced by large language models and may contain errors or reflect statistical biases. The Service is for learning support only; it is not a substitute for certified instruction, translation, or examination.

You retain ownership of content you submit. We process it solely to deliver the Service and improve feedback quality. See the Privacy Policy for retention and model-training policy.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to: (a) generate illegal, abusive, or harmful content; (b) probe, scan, or compromise our systems; (c) reverse-engineer model weights or extract training data; (d) violate third-party rights.

Accounts found violating this section may be suspended without refund.

6. Data, export, and deletion

You may export your data from Settings → Account. You may delete your account at any time from the same place; we delete your personal data within 30 days, retaining only records required by law (e.g., tax and transaction records) for the minimum period required.

Two limits on that deletion are set out in section 6 of the Privacy Policy — some operational records still carry your email address, and nightly backups keep 14 days of data. Read it rather than assuming deletion is instant and total.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes take effect 30 days after notice to your registered email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. The Service is offered in Korea, Japan and the United States; it is not offered in the EEA or the United Kingdom.

There is no published contact address yet. The Service is in closed early access and takes no payment; a contact of record is part of opening it commercially.
