What makes this one hard
Gratitude and a counter belong in the same breath here, and pairing them is not rude — "I'm really pleased with the offer, and I'd like to talk about the base" is the standard shape. "Is there any flexibility on…" is the phrase that opens a term without demanding it. One thing that catches Korean speakers off guard: after you name a figure, the other side may simply go quiet. That silence is a move, not a refusal, and filling it by lowering your own number gives away the round.
