Small talk after a meeting

The meeting has wrapped, and you are walking out beside someone senior.

What makes this one hard

This is a two-minute genre with its own rules. "That was interesting" is a placeholder rather than an opinion, and a senior colleague will wait through it for the specific thing you actually thought. Name a decision or a moment and react to that one. Ending it is the other half: English speakers close this exchange themselves with "anyway, I'll let you go" or "I'm heading this way", and waiting to be released instead can leave you walking further than you meant to.
